The local consulate you go to may also have requirements, such as age or income, that don't allow you to get an FM3. It's worth checking out though of course, maybe you can find out online how it went for people at your local consulate. Maybe you can get by with the FMT temporary visa, although if you are planning on working I believe that requires something else entirely, I don't have much experience with that. Moving is generally expensive and I wouldn't suggest it if you can just rent a furnished place or buy a few things that you need to get by, it will also make moving around easier for you.
